Starting from September 1, an operation under the code name "Istgoh" will be carried out on the roads of Dushanbe, aimed at eliminating incorrect parking, traffic jams and other traffic violations, the capital's Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Employees of the metropolitan traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will strengthen control over the rules of stopping and parking vehicles and will punish those drivers who stop in the wrong places, especially in the second lane of the roadway (with the exception of ambulances and Fire Service vehicles).

"In case of non-compliance with the rules of parking and stopping, the driver of the vehicle will be brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Article 324 ("Non-compliance with the requirements of road signs, road markings and other traffic rules") The Administrative Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the vehicle will be immediately sent to a penalty parking lot for long–term storage," the metropolitan administration noted, asking drivers to strictly follow the rules of the road.

The timing of the operation has not been specified.

It should be noted that last year in Dushanbe, the South Korean company RexGen, in cooperation with the Dushanbe City Hall and the State Unitary Enterprise “Smart City”, launched an innovative project to identify and record parking violations at public stops in Dushanbe.

The system is integrated with the Safe City platform and provides for the installation of video recording equipment at 350 public transport stops in the capital.

Improper parking and stopping vehicles in the wrong places are among the most frequent traffic violations that residents of Dushanbe complain about.
