In just three days, the Dushanbe police fined more than 300 drivers as part of Operation "Istgoh", aimed at combating improper parking and congestion in the capital. This was reported to "Asia-Plus" by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dushanbe city.

The operation began in the capital on September 1.

As noted in the department, the violators were brought to justice under article 324 ("Violation of the requirements of road signs and traffic rules") Administrative Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The fine is 75 somoni, and the violators' cars were sent to a parking lot for a period of three to seven days.

The metropolitan police noted that the main causes of congestion are an increase in the number of cars, street repairs, as well as parking in the wrong places and stopping vehicles in the second and third rows. Public transport drivers who drop off and receive passengers outside stops and lanes of passenger transport are particularly likely to violate the rules.

"After the start of the operation, numerous violations were identified, and despite the work already done, the number of violators remains high," – the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.

The ministry also noted that pedestrians should actively participate in the operation itself – they should not get into cars in the second or third row of the road, so as not to endanger their lives and the lives of other road users.

The operation is still ongoing, and the deadline for its completion has not yet been determined.
