Tajikistan-based fintech company Alif, in partnership with Visa, has launched a new service that enables zero-commission money transfers from Tajikistan to the United States.  Users can now send funds directly to a U.S. bank account through the Alif mobile app — all without visiting a bank or paying a fee.

A game-changer for cross-border transfers

Previously, transferring money to the U.S. from Tajikistan involved high fees and lengthy processing times.  Now, with no commission and fully online functionality, the process is faster, more affordable, and more accessible.

This is especially beneficial for Tajik students studying in the United States, who can now pay tuition with fewer added costs, and for families looking to support loved ones abroad more efficiently.

How it works

To make a transfer, users simply:

  1. Open the Alif app
  2. Navigate to PaymentsInternational TransfersUSA
  3. Enter the recipient's banking information
  4. Upload a supporting document (such as a passport, invoice, or contract)
  5. Enter the amount and confirm the transfer

All transfers are subject to foreign exchange regulations, so a valid supporting document is required.

Transfer limits

  • Minimum transfer: US$100
  • Daily limit: US$10,000
  • Weekly limit: US$25,000
  • Monthly limit: US$50,000
