On November 24, Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met here with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi.

According to the Tajik Foreign Ministry, the two sides discussed the current state and prospects of further expnsion of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, cultural, and security spheres.

Both parties reportedly expressed mutual interest in further strengthening the productive partnership between the two friendly nations.

Iranian diplomat arrived in Dushanbe for participation in the next round of political consultations between the two countries that took place at the level of the deputy ministers of foreign affairs on November 24.

The Tajik MFA information department says the delegations were headed by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan, Farrukh Sharifzoda, and Iran, Majid Takht-Ravanchi.

During the consultations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of previously reached high-level agreements, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The talks were held in a constructive atmosphere and in the spirit of mutual understanding. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Earlier this year, on May 18, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held talks with Foreign Minister Muhriddin in Tehran. During that meeting, Pezeshkian described Iranian-Tajik relations as being at an excellent level and emphasized that a solid foundation had been laid for deepening cooperation in trade, economy, science, politics, and security.

He also stressed the importance of fostering closer ties between the business communities and scientific institutions of both countries.

The top Tajik diplomat reportedly reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral relations, noting that the implementation of agreements reached at the presidential level provides a strong basis for enhanced cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, and the economy. He also highlighted that the visa-free regime between the two countries creates favorable conditions for increasing tourist exchanges and strengthening people-to-people ties.
