Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC )Dushanbe International Airport (DIA) has introduced a new automated system for vehicle entry control and parking management, the airport’s press center reported.

The system aims to create more comfortable conditions for passengers and drivers, while also enhancing the quality of service for visitors and tourists in the capital.

“In addition, the implementation of this automated system helps curb illegal taxi operations and complies with ICAO requirements for aviation security,” the press office noted.

An automated entry and parking control system is a technology-driven solution for managing vehicle access to a parking facility, using components like barriers, sensors, and software to automate entry, payment, and space management. It enhances security, reduces costs, and improves the driver experience by streamlining processes like ticket issuance, fee collection, and space finding, often using methods like license plate recognition, RFID, or barcode tickets.

Earlier, the airport established designated areas for those greeting and seeing off passengers. Since May 2025, entry into the terminal building has been restricted for non-traveling individuals. These measures are part of efforts to meet international aviation security standards, maintain public order, and uphold hygiene regulations, as well as to prevent the spread of infections.
