DUSHANBE, October 30, 2008, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday October 29, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov met with his Kazakh counterpart, Prime Minister Karim Masimov, in Astana, Kazakhstan on sidelines of a session of the council of heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation (SCO).

Referring to press service of Kazakh premier, Kazakhstan’s news agency Kazinform noted that in the course of the talks the two had discussed state and prospects of further expansion of economic and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.  

            The sides also considered issues related to bilateral cooperation in the filed of energy, including construction of power grid from Tajikistan to Kazakhstan via Kyrgyzstan, and fuel shipments to Tajikistan.  

            The premiers expressed confidence that the present level of mutual understanding would promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Kazinform said.
