DUSHANBE, March 20, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday March 19, the OSCE Office in Tajikistan completed an eight-day training course for officials from border, customs and interior agencies of Tajikistan on risk management in the prevention of criminal activity.

According to the OSCE Office, twenty-four officers from of the Tajik Border Troops, Customs Service and the Interior Ministry worked on evaluating context and potential risks, identification, analysis and classification of risks, and risk assessment at airport and land borders.

The course was delivered by serving police and border police officers from Turkey and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

“The OSCE Office is helping border officers in Tajikistan increase their knowledge, practical and professional skills through exchange of experiences with colleagues from other participating States,” said Hans-Peter Larsen, Acting Head of the Office.

The course was conducted as part of the border security program, focusing on building national capacity of the Tajik border security and management agencies.
