DUSHANBE, August 14, 2013, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday August 14, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed a decree on measures aimed at strengthening the level of population”s social security and increasing the minimum wage, public sector wage, pensions and allowances [scholarships].
By president’s decree the minimum monthly wage in all sectors of the country”s economy will be raised by 25 percent and will be set at 250.00 somoni beginning on September 1, 2013.
Wages for organizations which are funded from the state budget will be raised by 20 percent from September 1, 2013.
Wages for preschool and educational institutions will be raised by 30 percent and wages for scientific institutions as well as social and cultural facilities will be raised by 20 percent from September 1, 2013.
Wages of the staff of medical facilities which are funded from the state budget will be raised by 20 percent and the base wage rate of the staff of medical facilities which are funded from the state budget will be set at 190.00 somoni.
The base wage rate for public servants of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th categories will be set at 405.00 somoni and the base wage rate for public servants of the 5th, 6th and 7th categories will be set at 450.00 somoni.
Wage for special military ranks, servicemen and the staff of the power-wielding agencies are to be raised by 15 per cent from September 1, 2013.
The current allowances [scholarships] for students are to be increased by 20 per cent from September 1, 2013.
The minimum monthly old-age pension will be increased by 25 percent and be set at 130.00 somoni beginning on September 1, 2013.
The maximum monthly old-age pension will be increased by 20 percent and be set at 624.00 somoni.
