KHUJAND, September 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  – Two persons were killed and one other was wounded today early in the morning as rocks tumbled down and smashed into a car Toyota that fell into a 30-meter precipice, according to the Sughd emergency management agency. 

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Khudoiberdi Qodirberdiyev, deputy head of the Sughd emergency management agency, said that the incident took place in the area of Shodmondara, 88th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Khujand at a round 2:00 a.m. 

“A car Toyota fell into the 30-meter precipice when rocks smashed into it,” said the Sughd emergencies official, “Two persons were killed and one other was wounded; the wounded person was taken to the central district hospital in Ayni.”
