KHOROG, September 18, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Farmers in Gorno Badakhshan have had good grain and potato harvests this year.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Imomdod Farhodov, deputy head of the GBAO agriculture directorate, said that they have harvested some 1,690 tons of grains, 1,320 tons of potatoes, and 624 tons of vegetables so far.  

Harvesting campaign is going on in the region and the GBAO farmers plan to harvest more than 12,500 tons of cereals, 44,370 tons of potatoes and 14,820 tons of vegetables this year, the GBAO agriculture official said.
