DUSHANBE, September 3, 2013, Asia-Plus – The World Bank, jointly with the Government of Tajikistan, will decide on the date of next consultations on Raghoun Hydropower Plant assessments.
World Bank office in Dushanbe reported to Asia-Plus that project assessment is going on currently.
According to the source, currently a number of preliminary reports on existing structure are being prepared for publishing.
He said: “In accordance with the earlier practice, we will publish these documents on the website and declare the date for next consultations. Public will have enough time to review the documents prior to the consultations.” Earlier, it was intended to hold next consultations on Raghoun project at the end of summer.
Three rounds of meetings were organized in the World Bank on information exchange and discussion about assessment works of Raghoun project in the past two years with the Bank experts, governments and civil society representatives of the river basin countries. Uzbek governmental delegation ignored all these events.
According to the World Bank, in general such consultations are planned to be held on key stages of the evaluation processes between country representatives with the participation of experts from the Bank.
