DUSHANBE, October 31, 2013, Asia-Plus – The first deputy head of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Safar Safarov, who heads Emomali Rahmon’s pre-election campaign staff, has acquainted  Asia-Plus’s journalist with Rahmon’s pre-election campaign.

“During the next presidential term, Emomali Rahmon intends to create worthy conditions of life for Tajikistanis,” Safarov told Asia-Plus in an interview.

“Creating conditions for worthy life and free development for each person that is the theme of the pre-election campaign of our candidate,” Safarov noted.

According to him, priorities of Rahmon’s election program include: encouraging youth involvement in agriculture through providing microloans to them and exempting them from some types of taxes; construction of industrial enterprises; enhancing role of medium-sized entrepreneurs; ensuring gross domestic product (GDP) growth; and achieving energy independence through completion of construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), construction of small hydropower plants and exploration and development of oil and gas fields in the country.
