DUSHANBE, August 28, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s Ministry of energy and Industries (MoEI) and China’s Yunnan Phosphate Chemical Group Co. LTD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in enhancing Tajik chemical industry in Dushanbe on August 27.     

The source at a MoEI said that the sides had expressed readiness to launch projects for enhancement of Tajik chemical industry and production of mineral fertilizers in Tajikistan.  

“The sides have agreed to launch a joint venture at open joint-stock company (OJSC) Khimzavod (chemical plant) in Sughd’s Isfara district for production of ammonia saltpeter,” the source said, noting that under the memorandum, the ministry will provide support for launch and registration of the joint venture in accordance with established procedure.
