Emomali Rahmon signs decree on increasing salaries and paying bonuses to IT sector workers

The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, signed a decree “On the Regulation of Salaries and Payment of Bonuses to Employees in the Field of Information and Communication Technologies”.

The document continues the government’s policy of transitioning to a digital economy and implementing the “National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan until 2030”. It aims at the development of modern technologies, improving human capital, and strengthening the intellectual potential and digitalization of all spheres of life, the state-run news agency Khovar reports.

The decree provides for the creation of a new incentive system for specialists in the field of information technology, which will depend not only on work experience but also on professional competence and international certification of employees. This will provide a reliable foundation for the formation of electronic government and the improvement of the country’s information security.

The salary increase will be fully funded from the state budget.

It is noted that the document is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the public sector in the labor market by attracting highly qualified personnel to public authorities. It covers issues not only of material incentives but also the acceleration of innovation processes, support for teachers of digital disciplines, as well as ensuring the information security and technological sovereignty of Tajikistan at a new stage of development.
