Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at 5.285 bln USD last year

DUSHANBE, January 15, 2014, Asia-Plus — In 2013, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, amounted to 5.285 billion U.S. dollars, which was 102.9 percent of the 2012 level or 146.7 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance was negative and amounted to some 3 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in 2013 amounted to more than 4.121 billion U.S. dollars, which was 14.4 percent or 196.2 million U.S. dollars fewer than in 2012.

Imports of goods into the country last year amounted to more than 3.7 billion U.S. dollars, which was 9.1 percent or more than 342 million U.S. dollars more than in 2012. 

Last year, Tajikistan had trade relations with 99 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

In 2013, Tajikistan’s major trading partners were: Russia – more than 1 billion U.S. dollars; Kazakhstan – 711 million U.S. dollars; China – 682 million U.S. dollars; and Turkey – some 656 million U.S. dollars, the Agency for Statistics said.
