DUSHANBE, January 16, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan plans to export a total of 25.5 million USD worth of 700 million kWh of electric power this year, according to the Forecast for the Main Microeconomic Indicators for 2014 and its Main Parameters for 2015-2016.
According to data of the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, Tajikistan exported 33.2 million USD worth of electricity last year, which was 11.9 million USD more than in 2012. Tajikistan supplies electric power mainly to Afghanistan.
In 2015, Tajikistan is expected to increase electricity exports to 750 million kWh of electric power (27.3 million USD) in 2015 and to 800 million kWh of electricity (29.1 million USD) in 2016.
