DUSHANBE, August 18, 2008, Asia-Plus — On Sunday August 17, Sharifkhon Samiyev, head of Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, held a meeting with ten Tajik students who entered Kharkov Polytechnic Institute and Ukrainian National Technical University this year.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Nozir Yodgori, a spokesman for Barqi Tojik, said that during the meeting, Samiyev had wished them success, noting that the future of Tajik energy sector depends on them.
It is already the second group Barqi Tojik has sent to Ukraine to study hydropower disciplines. Eleven Tajik students currently study at Kharkov Polytechnic Institute.
All expenses on studying and student grants are paid by the power holding, the spokesman said, adding that Barqi Tojik now funds studying of 450 future power engineering specialists both at Tajik and foreign universities.
