KHUJAND, February 10, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajik and Kyrgyz interior ministers have agreed to draw up routes for joint patrol of disputed segments of mutual border.
According to the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd province, eight routes for joint patrol of border villages have been drawn up.
“Tajik and Kyrgyz police officers will jointly patrol the border villages from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm,” a source at the Interior Ministry’s office in Sughd province told Asia-Plus in an interview.
The following eight routes have been drawn up:
- Chorkuh-Aksai; the territories of the villages of Ortabaz, Khojai Alo and Aksai; motor patrol;
- Somoniyon-Kuktash; the territories of the villages of Zarafshon, Yakkaterak, Pervomaysk and Kuktash; motor patrol;
- Vorukh-Aksai; the territories of the villages of Vorukh and Aksai; motor patrol;
- Somoniyon-Kuktash; dismounted patrol;
- Ortabaz; dismounted patrol;
- Khojai Alo-Tomtumshuk; dismounted patrol;
- Vorukh-Aksai; dismounted patrol;
- Zarafshon-Ortabaz; dismounted patrol.
