DUSHANBE, August 12, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The state unitary enterprise Madad has delivered more than $231,000 worth of agricultural machines and equipment to the country this year, the Madad head Khairullo Khudoiberdiyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to him, nine Belarus-mead tractors MTZ-82.1, costing $21,000 each, six Uzbek-made sprayers OVK-600 ($4,100 each), and 10 tractor-drawn plows PN 2-30 worth $8,500 have been delivered to the country over the first seven months of this year.   

“400,000 somonis’ worth of spare parts for agricultural machines have been stored in the Madad warehouses,” Khudoiberdiyev said, adding that harvesters and spare parts for them for total amount of 350,000 somonis will be delivered to the country in the near future.    

Over the same seven-month period, the trade turnover of Madad has amounted to more than 1.8 million somonis, while this year’s target has been amounted at $1.4 million somonis. 

“It is to be noted that in 2005-Jan-June 2008, Madad’s trade turnover amounted to 5.322 million somonis (more than $.15 million),” the Madad head said.  

The state unitary enterprise Madad is engaged in providing farming units with agricultural machines and spare parts for them.  It was established in 1961 as Tajikselkhoztekhnika.  In 1992, it was renamed concern Madad and since 2004, it has been known as the state unitary enterprise Madad.
