DUSHANBE, March 10, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajik and Russian foreign ministries have signed a 2014 cooperation program.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the document was inked by Tajik Foreign Minister Sirjiddin Aslov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on March 8.

The two reportedly discussed state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation and exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest.

They also discussed political aspects of cooperation between their countries within the framework of regional and international organizations as issues related to providing regional security.

Aslov and Lavrov underlined the significance of activity of the Tajik-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation and pointed to the necessity of using its potential in full volume for further expansion of mutually beneficial economic cooperation, the Tajik MFA infroamtion department said.
