DUSHANBE, March 10, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Monday March 10, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov left for New York to attend the event dedicated to the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation (IYWC), according to the Tajik MFA information department.

We will recall that in December 2010, following the proposal initiated by Tajikistan and submitted by a group of countries, the United Nations General Assembly declared 2013 as the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation.

Sirojiddin Aslov’s visit to New York reportedly will last until March 14.

While in New York, Sirojiddin Aslov will also hold a number of bilateral talks, the Tajik MFA information department said.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, First Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Sulton Rahimov, is accompanying Sirojiddin Aslov on this trip.
