Kazakhstan will allocate more than US $ 10 billion for developing transport industry from the state budget in the nearest three years, said Director of Department of Strategic Research and International Cooperation, Saltanat Rahimbekova, during the session of Transport and Communications Ministry on July 17.

“US$ 10 billion were requested for development of transport branch over the period of 2009 – 2011 and for 2009 – US $ 3 billion” said Saltanat Rahimbekova.

She said that 80 % of the proposed budget will be directed to implementation of development programs and about US$ 3 million will be allocated to the oblasts” budget and cities of Almaty and Astana in the form of target transfers for development of local infrastructure.

Director of Department also informed that current budgetary programs of the Ministry for 2009 of the sum of US$ 549 million have been approved at the last session of the Republican Budget Commission, which is 35% more in comparison with volume of resources allocated for this year.
