DUSHANBE, July 16, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The declared capital of the Tajikistan Development Bank (TDB) rose 108.65 percent in the year to June 1, 2008, reaching 59.99 million somonis, according to TDB’s headquarters in Dushanbe.  As of June 1, 2007, TDB’s declared capital amounted to more than 28.7 million somonis.   

Since the beginning of this year, the bank’s income has exceeded 5.5 million somonis and its assets rose 109.4 percent in six months to July 1, 2008, reaching some 66.5 million.  As of January 1, 2008, TDB’s assets amounted to more than 31.7 million somonis.   

Over the first six months of this year, TDB has provided more than 39.6 million somonis in loans, which is 87.5 percent more than in the same period of last year.   As of July 1, 2008, more than 9.2 million somonis have been provided in loans for enhancement of the agrarian sector.   

Over the report period more than $17.8 million have been transferred via the Tajikistan Development Bank.
