DUSHANBE, July 1, 2008, Asia-Plus –  This year, farmers in Gorno Badakhshan have planted leguminous crops on an area of totaling 7,176 hectares, which is 214 hectares more than last year, according to the GBAO agriculture directorate.

They have also planted vegetables on 534 hectares (32 hectares more than last year), and potatoes on 2,003 hectares (126 hectares more than last year5).    

            In all, 12,188 hectares of cultivation areas are currently in Gorno Badakhshan, which is 93 hectares fewer than last year.  The cultivation areas reduced due to inventory of lands, made in the Ishkashim district.
