DUSHANBE, June 14, Asia-Plus — More 86 kilograms of raw opium have been seized in an operation carried out by officers from the Interior Ministry directorate for drug trafficking (drug police) in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said that narcotic drug that tested positive to raw opium weighing more than 86 kilograms was found in car belonging to Shuhrat Valiyev, resident of Khatlon’s Farkhor district, on June 13.
Valiyev said that the drugs belong to Afghan national Mahmadsobit valadi Abdughaffor.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on the drug-trafficking charge and an investigation is under way.
