DUSHANBE, February 25, 2015, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday February 25, the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament) deputies unanimously voted for ratification of agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital Tajikistan signed with the United Kingdom and South Korea.
Presenting the agreements, Deputy Finance Minister, Jamoliddin Nouraliyev, noted that ratification of the documents would promote attraction of British and Korean investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy and expansion of trade and economic cooperation with those countries.
“Last year, trade between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom valued at 11.6 million U.S. dollars and trade between Tajikistan and South Korea valued at 53.1 million U.S. dollars,” Tajik official said.
To-date, Tajikistan has signed similar agreements with 30 countries of the world, Nouraliyev added.
