DUSHANBE, March 20, 2015, Asia-Plus – Speaking at an annual meeting with leading scholars, writers, artists and other figures, President Emomali Rahmon said on March 19 that no public funds had been used for construction of the Kokhi Navrouz Complex.

According to him, the complex was built due to funds provided by local entrepreneurs and only Tajik specialists and builders were involved in construction of the Kokhi Navrouz Complex.

“Moreover, 90 percent of building materials used for construction of the complex were provided by domestic producers,” Rahmon said.

The head of state further noted that representatives of creative intelligentsia could hold their meetings, exhibitions and other events at the Kokhi Navrouz Complex.

The Kokhi Navrouz Complex that is a beautiful multidomed structure with hand-carved designs in wood was unveiled in September last year ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

According to some sources, the complex has been built at an estimated cost of $60 million.
