DUSHANBE, July 9, 2015, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday July 8, Chairman of  Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) Ruhullo Hakimzoda met with Mr. Nauman K. Dar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Habib Bank Ltd (HBL), in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan.

According to the Amonatbonk press center, the two sides discussed issues related to expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of interbank transactions and trade finance.            

A special attention was reportedly paid to issues related to bilateral investment cooperation in sectors like energy, mining, and agriculture.

Amonatbonk is the only state-owned bank in Tajikistan.  Established in 1925, it is one of the oldest in Tajikistan and one of the largest based upon various criteria – including the number of branches and the number of served clients.  The institution is unique in its orientation towards implementing social, pension and other state programs.  Amonatbonk has 5 regional centers, more than 70 branches and nearly 500 agencies. This gives the institution a presence in the most remote mountainous parts of the country.

Founded in 1941, Habib Bank Ltd (HBL), with headquarters in Karachi, is the largest private sector banking and financial services provider in Pakistan.  The bank has a network of over 1500 branches and over 1000 ATM(S) in Pakistan and 55 branches worldwide.  It has a domestic market share of over 40%.  It continues to dominate the commercial banking sector with a major market share in inward foreign remittances (55%) and loans to small industries, traders and farmers.  Habib Bank offers the basic range of banking services to its customers, to include commercial, bank in the emerging markets.
