Dushanbe. 25 August. “Asia Plus” — Lawyers of Tajikistan are going to create their own professional association – the Union of Lawyers of Tajikistan.

As reported the chairman of the Bar in Dushanbe Buzurgmehr Yorov, on 17-18 of September this year in Dushanbe the first congress of Tajikistan`s lawyers is scheduled, in the work of which will take part for about 50 delegates from all over the country.

According to him, in the course of the event it is scheduled to make a decision on the establishment of the Union of Lawyers of Tajikistan.

“The chairman of the Union and his deputies will be elected on the congress, as well as the members of the Union, and a charter of the Union will be adopted” – said Yorov.

He noted that it is planned to create such a union, whose members can be all the lawyers of the republic, regardless of whether they are included in the bar or not.

“The task of the Union, first of all, lies in the improvement of advocacy work quality and improvement of the lawyers` skills. There are some new requirements for advocacy in the modern world that must be met. For example, today foreign companies are working in our country, and sometimes there occur litigation. In order to maintain efficient operation, the lawyer must know at least three foreign languages ​​”, – he stressed.

Currently, the number of lawyers in Tajikistan is over 1.6 thousand people, more than 1.4 thousand of them are combined in various Bars. 180 lawyers are operating individually on the basis of the license of the Ministry of Justice.
