DUSHANBE, April 29, Asia-Plus — Remittances to open joint-stock company (OJSC) Orienbonk nearly doubled in the year to April 1, 2008, Asia-Plus has learned at Orienbonk’s head office in Dushanbe.
The source at the bank’s headquarters said that 529.6 million Russian rubles (RR) have been remitted to the bank over the report period, which is two times more than in the same period of last year when RR232,775,700 were remitted to Orienbonk.
Remittances in dollars rose 60 percent in the year to April 1, 2008, reaching $61.8927 million.
Over the same period, 155,327 euros have been remitted to Orienbonk, which is eleven times more than in April 1, 2006-April 1, 2007, the source said.
As far as remittances from Tajikistan to other countries via Orienbonk are concerned, 168,109,100 Russian rubles, $123.152 million US dollars and 282,370 euros were remitted from Tajikistan abroad via Orienbonk as of April 1, 2008.
