DUSHANBE, April 23, Asia-Plus — Tajik geologists have stricken high-silica sand and refractory clay in the foothills of the Hissor Ridge, Tajikistan’s Main Geology Directorate head Azim Ibrohim said.
According to him, high-silica sand and refractory clay are used as raw materials in the aluminum production.
“Exploration work at the Chashmasang deposit in the Hissor districts, which has enough reserves of high-silica sand and refractory clay, was finished recently,” said the Main Geology Directorate head. “This deposit will allow providing the country’s aluminum industry with local raw materials.”
According to him, the Chashmasang high-silica sand and refractory clay meet the standard requirements, and in some components, they even excel foreign analogues. There are just needed investments to develop this deposit, Azim Ibrohim noted.
