CIS foreign ministers’ meeting to consider 15 draft documents

DUSHANBE, March 15, Asia-Plus  — 15 draft documents will be considered at a session of the CIS council of foreign ministers that is scheduled to be held in Moscow on March 28.  

Davlat Nazri, the head of the information department at the Tajik MFA, said that according to the preliminary agenda, the session is supposed to consider a draft plan of main events to mark the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 with regard for national programs.   According to him, major part of this plan is dedicated to issues related to social protection of veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.   

The CIS foreign ministers are also expected to consider a draft resolution on raising efficiency of work of the TV and radio company Mir as well as a progress of implementation оf the plan of multilevel inter-MFA consultations in 2007 and the plan of consultations for 2008.  

They will also discuss a draft resolution on a concept of cooperation in providing information security within the CIS area and a draft statement by the CIS heads of state on expansion of cooperation in fighting drug trafficking.
