In Dushanbe in honor of the 25th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan were set symbolic pyramids of melons and watermelons.
25 pyramids of melons decorate Tajik capital today. They are set near the shopping center "Poytakht-90", on the square of 800-year of Moscow, near "Shohmansur", "Sahovat" and "Dehqon" markets, on the territory of capital’s "Navruzgoh" and in other places on the city.
In total there are 60 melon pyramids in the country. They will stay until September 15.
They were installed during the traditional holiday "Melon and honey", which was held in the capital last weekend.
At the festival was presented the largest melon weighing 12,700 kg – it was raised by a farmer from Spitamen district of Sogd, and the largest watermelon – 16,145 kg from Isfara. The weight of the largest pumpkin amounted to 17,750 kg and was raised in B. Gafurov district of Sughd region.
