The Government Tajikistan has adopted the National Development Strategy designed for the period until 2030.

President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting on September 30 to discuss the draft national development strategy designed for period until 2030, according to the Tajik president’s official website. 

Presenting the new national development strategy, Rahmon noted that the document outlining the national priorities to had been worked out by the country’s ministries and experts.

The strategy also takes into consideration goals, existing resources and impact of external factors on the country’s development. 

“There are several significant factors we need to successfully implement the strategy,” said the president.  “These factors are development of human potential, the rise of the country’s economy, increase of the industry’s share in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), transition from agrarian to industrial-agrarian society, threefold increase in generation of electricity (from 17 45 billion kWh).” 

The strategy also stipulates the rise of population education, the increase in length of life, improvement of living conditions, creation of new jobs, and improvement of microeconomic indicators. 

The primary task is to bring the country out of transport deadlock, provide energy independence, and provide food security.  

A number of draft laws, including the draft laws on amendments to the country’s laws on national security and public service, were discussed and approved during the meeting.
