About 35 percent of target facilities in Dushanbe, including 400 residential buildings, six schools and several kindergartens, have not yet been ready for heating season.
Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev held a meeting at the end of the last week to discuss measures to prepare the city for heating seasons.
1,242 facilities were supposed to be made ready in the city for heating season by October 1. However, only 812 facilities (65.4 percent) have been made ready for heating season so far.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister, Azim Ibrohim, who heads the republican commission on preparation of the country’s economy for winter season, expressed concern about the slow pace of preparation of Dushanbe’s heating mains for winter period.
He reportedly also sharply criticized the slow pace of connection of the city’s heating mains to the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant.
The second line of the Dsuahnbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant is expected to be introduced into operation in the autumn this year, according to Barqi Tojik (national integrated power company).
The second line reportedly consists of two units with a total capacity of 300 MW and 270 gigacalories. The first unit is expected to be introduced into operation in this month and the second one will be introduced into operation in December.
The plant’s second line is expected to increase the plant’s capacity to 400 megawatt.
Recall that the first 50 MW unit of the first line of the Dusahnbe-2 CHP plant was introduced into operation in January 2014 and the second 50 MW unit of the first line was introduced into operation on September 13, 2014.
On September 13, 2104, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping inserted the time capsule into the foundation stone for construction of the second line of the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant.
A total cost of the project is reportedly 30 million USD and it is being implemented due to a loan provided the Export-Import Bank of China.
This coal-powered plant is being built in the Luchob area of the Tajik capital. Construction of the coal-powered plant is reportedly in compliance with Tajikistan’s environmental regulations.
