DUSHANBE, February 4, Asia-Plus – Russia has lifted a temporary ban on the flights of Tajik airlines, a representative of the Transport Ministry told.
He said the ban was enacted on Saturday, and the problem was resolved by midnight.
Russia and Tajikistan will now have two weeks of consultations to exempt Russian airlines from compensatory fees. Tajik authorities decided last September that Russian airlines flying on the routes, where services of Tajik airlines were not available, must pay compensatory fees for each passenger to the Tajik budget. Moscow described the demand as a breach of rights of Russian airlines and passengers.
