DUSHANBE, December 26, Asia-Plus — On Wednesday December 26, President Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart, President Islam Karimov, presidential press service said.
State and prospects of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were focus of the talks.
The two, in particular, discussed issues related to mutual electricity supplies. Both sides vowed to resolve all existing problems in the spirit of friendship and neighborliness.
President Rahmon congratulated Karimov once again over his reelection as President of Uzbekistan.
For his part, President Karimov expressed gratitude to Emomali Rahmon for congratulations and wishes. He also asked to convey his deep condolences to families and friends of those who had been killed by an avalanche on the Dushanbe-Khujand highway.
