On Friday August, 4, President Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony for a new school built in the Bahor village, Nosir Khusrav district of Khatlon province, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The school that will accommodate 1,640 pupils in two shits has been built under financial support of the Saudi Fund for Development.

18 million somoni have reportedly been sent for construction of this school.  President Rahmon laid the cornerstone of this school in 2014.

The Saudi Fund for Development was set up by royal decree in October 1974, to stimulate economic growth in developing nations.  In the next four years it gave soft loans totaling $3.1 billion to 51 countries, many of them with the lowest per-capita income bracket in the world.  Almost 60 percent of approved loans earmarked for transport, power and water projects.
