Classes in higher and secondary schools in Dushanbe from September 1 will begin at 8 am. Last year, the former mayor of the capital, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev, proposed adjustments to the schedule of universities and colleges, and classes began there from 7.30 am.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan decided to abandon the schedule in universities and colleges, proposed last year by the former mayor of Dushanbe, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev. Since September 1, classes in the educational institutions of the capital will begin, as before, at 8 am. The corresponding decision was made on August 28 by the collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of the country, the spokesman for the ministry Ehson Khushbakht told “AP”.
According to him, after the meeting of the board, the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Nuriddin Said signed a decision on restoring the schedule for starting studies in high schools and colleges from 8 am in order to prevent delays and traffic jams that arise during the movement in the capital.
"The second shift in higher and secondary vocational schools in Dushanbe will not be changed as before", – the representative of the Ministry of Education added.
Recall that in November last year, the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, in agreement with the government of the Republic, decided to change the beginning of the time of classes in higher and secondary vocational schools in Dushanbe.
It was decided to start classes half an hour earlier, that is, from 7.30 am. According to the source, this decision was made in accordance with the request of the mayor's office to review the schedule of studies of students of the capital's universities.
The ministry noted that the decision was made in order to reduce traffic jams on the territory of the capital in the morning "peak hours".
Regarding the duration of the new regime, the beginning of the time in the capital's universities, colleges and schools in the Ministry of Education and Science said that "the mayor's office plans to build a subway or other alternative roads". Only after the emergence of a new urban infrastructure students can get back their lost half an hour of sleep.
