Fire triggered by violation of fire safety regulations has burnt down a fuel station located in the village of Qirghizon on the Dushanbe-Vahdat highway.

The Interior Ministry’s website says the accident took place yesterday afternoon.  According to the preliminary data, ignition occurred when a tank truck was pouring out liquefied gas into the fuel station’s gas storage.  No injured was reported, the work on assessing actual damage caused by the fire is under way.

Recall, similar accident took place in the southern Khatlon province in July last year.  One person was killed and at least 17 others injured on July 9, 2016 as an explosion occurred at a fuel station in Bokhtar district.  The explosion occurred when a tank truck was pouring out liquefied gas into the fuel station’s gas storage.  The explosion was reportedly caused by nonobservance of fire safety regulations.

The fuel station burnt down.  The blast was so powerful that it blew out the windows of nearby buildings and damaged two cars.
