Jahongir Suhrobzoda, a clerk at a court in the Hisor district has been arrested on suspicion of taking an 8,500 somoni bribe, according to the anticorruption agency press center.

Suhrobzoda demanded 8,500 somoni from local resident promising to solve disputed issue regarding land parcel in favor of him.   

Suhrobzoda was reportedly caught red-handed while taking 4,500 somoni from him.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Jahongir Suhrobzoda under the provisions of Article 247 (2) of Tajikistan  bribery; an investigation is under way.
