Users of social networks have been indignant at an offending verse about Tajik migrants pasted onto one of bus stops in Moscow.

The verse was printed on a paper with logo of the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Moskovsky Transport (Moscow public transport).

Meanwhile, representatives of Moskvosky Transport say they have nothing to do with that leaflet, according to Russia’s Sputnik news agency.

The leaflet was posted on a social network by a female resident of Moscow.  The social network users call that verse “provocation.”

Xenophobia is the anti-immigrant sentiment exhibited by host societies towards immigrants from other cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. One of the prevalent explanations of xenophobia in existing literature attributes hostility towards immigrants to the perceived competition for local social and economic resources.  Fear of immigrants is most common among groups most vulnerable to the challenges of a globalized economy.  Unskilled labor and lower-middle class workers, uneducated, underemployed and unemployed individuals are expected to express more anti-immigrant sentiment. The competitive threat from the influx of a younger, cheaper immigrant labor force has been found to significantly increase anti-immigrant sentiment in Russia.
