Uzbek media reports say the State Committee on Tourism Development of Uzbekistan is planning to establish the institutions of Tourism Brand Ambassadors of Uzbekistan.
According to UzReport, prominent members of political, cultural, sporting and business circles of foreign countries are to be appointed tourism ambassadors of Uzbekistan.
A full range of duties of ambassadors has yet to be developed and approved. However, one of the main functional responsibilities will be carrying out advertising campaigns with the use of their name and photograph, UzNews says.
It is planned that tourism ambassadors of Uzbekistan will have the right to visit Uzbekistan twice a year free of charge for the purpose of carrying out various promotion actions aimed at attracting tourists to Uzbekistan, UzNews added.
