DUSHANBE, October November 3, Asia-Plus  — A service car of commander of Tajik National Guard, Major-General Rajabali Rahmonaliyev, has blown up, Asia-Plus has learned at the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI said the explosion occurred on November 2, early in the morning, when the car was in a garage on the Borbad Street, not far from the house of the commander.  No injured was reported, according to the source.   

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.   

We will recall that Rahmonaliyev was appointed to head the National Guard in early 2004.  On January 26, 2004, President Emomali Rahmon signed a decree transforming the Presidential Guard into a National Guard and dismissing its commander, Lieutenant-General Ghaffor Mirzoyev and appointing Colonel Rajabali Rahmonaliyev, formerly head of Tajikistan”s airborne battalion, to head the new National Guard.
