Ghafour Shermatov, an author of our rubric “The Old Dushanbe”, is usually complementary about Soviet-era architecture in the Tajik capital. But there are several modern buildings in Dushanbe which he is delighted with.
Ghafour Shermatov has picked the five buildings that, in his opinion, have brightened the Tajik capital.
Among them are The Ismaili Centre Dushanbe, “Istiqlol” Medical Complex, “Kokhi Navrouz” Cultural Complex, Palace of Nation (the official residence of the President of Tajikistan), and the National Library of Tajikistan.
