DUSHANBE, October 19, Asia-Plus — Enterprises of Tojikmatlubot (Tajik consumers’ association) have stocked up 2,050 tons of vegetables, including 1,720 tons of onions, for winter, the Tojikmatlubot head Sirojiddin Valiyev told journalists in Dushanbe on October 19.
According to him, they have also stocked up 2,000 tons of potatoes, 275 tons of fruits, 440 tons of watermelons, melons and gourds, 177 tons of grapes and 500 tons of cereals.
Besides, the Tojikmatlubot enterprises have processed 840 tons of vegetables and fruits for winter.
“Over the first nine months of this year, Tojikmatlubot’s trade turnover has amounted to 51.2 million somonis, which is 47.1 percent more than in the same period of last year,” the Tojikmatlubot head said.
He added that 92 shops realizing farm produce now function in Tajikistan. Of them, 52 have been opened in January-September 2007.
Over the report period, Tojikmatlubot has transferred to the country’s budget 8.018 million somonis, which is 2.567 million somonis more than in the same period of 2006.
On the cooperators working in the country, Valiyev said that 21,602 cooperators now work in Tajikistan.
