Over the first six months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electric energy and natural gas, has amounted to more than 2 billion U.S. dollars, which was 120 percent of the January-June 2018 level or 3353 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance over the report period has been negative and amounted to 971.7 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods over the first six months of this year have reportedly amounted to 528.3 million U.S. dollars, which was 15.3 percent or 70.2 million USD more than in the same period last year. 

Over the same six-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to more than 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, which was 22.7 percent or 283.1 million U.S. dollars more than in January-June last year.  

The export-import coverage ratio has decreased from 36 percent in January-June 2017 to 35 percent in January-June this year.  

Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 93 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

In January-June this year, the major trading partners of Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia valued at some 470 million US dollars over the report period), Kazakhstan (416 million US dollars) and China (316 million US dollars).
