DUSHANBE, October 1, Asia-Plus — More than 41 kilograms of drugs were seized in two operations carried out by Tajik police last weekends, Asia-plus has learned at the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said that 27 kilograms of drugs were seized at the traffic police checkpoint in the Panj district, Khatlon on September 29. The drugs were found in a Mercedes-200 belonging to local resident Khayrullo Haqnazarov. The totaled included 20 kilograms of raw opium and 7 kilograms of heroin.
Another more than 14 kilograms of drugs were intercepted in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district yesterday. 13.5 kilograms of raw opium and 895 grams of marijuana were found in a VAZ-21099 car belonging to Aslankhon Rahmonov, resident of the Chagan village in Shuroobod.
