DUSHANBE, September 17, Asia-Plus — Open joint-stock company (OJSC) TojikSodirotBonk (TSB), one of Tajikistan’s largest commercial banks, has opened its branch in the Danghara district, Khatlon.

The source at a TSB said that an official opening of the branch was held in Danghara at the end of last week and the main priorities of the branch are to attract and serve deposits, provide money transfer services and loan private individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises.

It is already the tenth branch of the TSB across the country.  The bank also has its representative offices in Moscow (Russia), Urumqi (China), and Almaty (Kazakhstan).

TSB was established in December 1990 as the Tajik branch of the Vnesh Econom Bank of the former Soviet Union, and it initially specialized in trade and import-export banking.  Later this branch was reorganized into a Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Tajikvnesheconombank”. In June 1999 the bank was renamed and registered as TojikSodirotBonk or TSB.

Headquartered in Dushanbe, TSB now has 10 branches in the main cities and districts of Tajikistan and covering all regions of the country. Its clients include the biggest Tajik trading companies, other enterprises, entrepreneurs, and some of the embassies and diplomatic organizations based in Dushanbe.

TSB’s regulative capital now amounts to more than 94 million somonis.
