DUSHANBE, September 11, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan has yielded 101,349 tons of raw cotton by September 11, which is 18.4 percent of the national target, which has been determined at 550,000 tons of cotton, Asia-Plus ahs learned at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (MoAEP). 

The source at a MoAEP said that cotton growers of the northern Sughd province have to date yielded 11,800 tons of cotton, which is 6.0 percent of their target determined at 111,300 tons of cotton.

Southern Khatlon province has pledged to produce 330,500 tons of cotton this year.  The province has yielded 83,656 tons of cotton by September 11, which is 25.3 percent of the target.

Cotton farmers in districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) have produced 5,893 tons of cotton so far, which is 12.2 percent of the target.  Their target for this year is 48,200 tons of cotton.
